Simon James are proud to launch their new and innovative approach to the wedding registry. Both online and in store, Simon James offer a selection of beautiful, classic design pieces – the sort of home wares, candles and furniture that add a certain something to a newlywed household.
Alongside more luxury pieces for the home, such as beautiful glass table lamps, champagne buckets and brass candleholders, more traditional registry gifts such as cutlery sets and glassware will be available.
Complimenting the new registry service is the launch of the Wedding Journal. The Journal is an online collection of beautiful wedding inspiration, from gift ideas to stylist advice, dresses to flowers and everything in between – as well as insights from some of Simon James’ most trusted fashion and design insiders.
The services offered by Simon James span gift selection assistance through to an online gift registry for overseas and out of town friends. All parcels are beautifully wrapped and hand-delivered too.
Visit Simon James Design at The Department Store, 10 Northcroft Street, Takapuna; or see store.simonjamesdesign.com to create your own gift registry.

What makes a modern wedding?
For a design-conscious couple, wedding aesthetics are incredibly important – from the table settings right through to the flowers, the dress and the suits. Then, there are the gifts. Long gone are the days where a couple is in need of a set of saucepans or a toaster. Most couples have lived together before they marry, so the role of a gift registry has changed immensely.
At Simon James Concept Store there is a selection of beautiful, classic design pieces available – the sort of homewares, candles and furniture that add a certain something to a newlywed household. Of course, Simon James also offers more traditional registry gifts such as cutlery sets and glassware, as well as luxury forever pieces for the home like beautiful glass table lamps, brass dishes and candleholders.
The services offered by Simon James Concept Store span gift selection assistance through to an online gift registry for overseas and out of town friends. All parcels are beautifully wrapped and hand-delivered too. Kinfolk Magazine will be available exclusively in New Zealand from Simon James Concept Store and online.
“Kinfolk is a quarterly print and tablet publication, produced by a growing community of artists with a shared interest in small gatherings. We recognize that there is something about a table shared by friends, not just a wedding or once-a-year holiday extravaganza, that anchors our relationships and energizes us.
We have come together to create Kinfolk as our collaborative way of advocating the natural approach to entertaining that we love. Every element of Kinfolk – the features, photography, and general aesthetics – are consistent with the way we feel entertaining should be: simple, uncomplicated, and less contrived. Kinfolk is the marriage of our appreciation for art and design and our love for spending time with family and friends.”

This variant of the common, disposable ballpoint pen is made from a single fluid sleeve of lasting solid brass. Designed ergonomically, with careful consideration to weight and balance, it delivers a smooth and fluid line with very little applied pressure. The pen is not plated or lacquered in any way, thus allowing its surface finish to change with use and age – eventually developing a rich natural patina and becoming uniquely personal to its owner.
